Meanwhile, nearly one thousand energy customers in Victoria also encountered energy failures after Melbourne experienced its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the state, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, more than 28k energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both regions.

Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
