Over 50 unaccompanied child asylum seekers who disappeared shortly after reaching the UK and while being looked after by the authorities are yet to be found, based on figures gathered.

Numerous of the unaccounted minors entered in dinghies or concealed in the cargo areas of trucks and are presumed to have been seized by smugglers. This region is frequently the place where they arrive.

Statistical Information Reveals Alarming Statistics

Publicly available information has recorded 345 children disappearing from their area, with 56 of those still missing.

Between 2021 and 2023, when designated facilities for children operated in addition to hotels in various locations, 132 children went missing from those two hotels. Of these, 108 were subsequently located but 24 are remain unaccounted for.

From 2020 and August 2025, 213 children disappeared from welcome hubs for these minors, with 182 located and 32 yet to be accounted for.
